President, PBS Founder and Chief Advisor of A. Qadir & Company
Mr Abdul Qadir Memon is the Founder and Chief Advisor of A. Qadir & Company, Taxation and Corporate Laws Consultants, established in 1980 and recognised by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific. He currently serves as a Member of the FPCCI Advisory Committee on Taxation and the KCCI Advisory Committee on Taxation.
A leading figure in Pakistan’s tax and legal landscape, Mr Memon is the Founding Chairman of the Board of Directors of the PTBA Academy of Taxation and a Member of the Federal Board of Revenue’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee. He has twice been elected President of the Pakistan Tax Bar Association and has also served two terms as President of the Karachi Tax Bar Association.
He has played a pivotal role in national policy development, serving on the Reforms and Resource Mobilization Commission of the Ministry of Finance, the Tax/Revenue Advisory Council, and the FPCCI Policy Advisory Board. Internationally, he was elected Vice President of the Asia-Oceania Tax Consultants’ Association and was a founding member of the Advisory Council of the Federal Tax Ombudsman.
Mr Memon has held leadership positions in the financial sector, including as Chairman of the National Clearing Company of Pakistan, the Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, and BankIslami Modarabas Investment Ltd. He has also served on the boards of the Pakistan Stock Exchange, State Life Insurance Corporation, the Institute of Corporate Governance, and the Institute of Financial Markets of Pakistan.
He has contributed extensively to national dialogue on taxation and corporate law and has been a part of the Consultative Group of the Competition Commission of Pakistan. He has authored papers and participated as a speaker at numerous local and international forums.
In addition to his professional contributions, Mr Memon served as National President of the Pakistan chapter of Junior Chamber International (JCI) and of the Memon Professional Forum. At the 2006 JCI World Congress in Seoul, Korea, he was recognised globally as the “Outstanding Member of the World” and featured in JCI’s list of “Inspiring Jaycees of the World.”
Deeply committed to social welfare, he is the Founder of the Cleft and Contracture Foundation and the Elza Mukhtar Foundation, and has previously served on the Executive Committee of HANDS (Health and Nutrition Development Society). He currently serves as President of the Patients’ Behbud Society for AKUH.
