The Patients’ Behbud Society (PBS) for The Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) has been certified by the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP). PCP is a designated certification agency by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). PCP builds trust and credibility in Pakistan’s non-profit sector for the effective use of philanthropic resources and provides benefactors with the utmost confidence in their donations. PBS meets the transparency and accountability standards set by the FBR as determined by external auditors to receive and maintain this certification.

PBS is volunteer-run and 100% of the Zakat and Sadaqat donations received are used for the treatment of Mustahiq and indigent patients, with no amount allocated to administrative or other expenses. ​
