Gohar Bibi, a resilient woman from Baluchistan, faced a difficult journey marked by uncertainty and struggle. Her health challenges began with a severe heart condition that left her in a state of persistent pain and discomfort.
Initially, Gohar Bibi sought help from several hospitals, struggling to provide a clear diagnosis. Despite her troubling symptoms the doctors at these facilities could not identify the exact issue. Instead of offering a definitive solution, they resorted to administering a series of injections and temporary treatments. This approach left her feeling frustrated and disheartened, as each visit seemed to lead to more questions rather than answers.
The turning point came when Dr. Saulat Fatimi, a skilled physician at Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH), finally provided the clarity she had been desperately seeking. “You have a severe heart problem,” he informed her. “We will have to do bypass surgery.”
The news was initially overwhelming, but the prospect of a definitive solution offered a glimmer of hope. After the surgery, Gohar Bibi felt immense relief as the pain subsided and her health began to improve. The successful operation transformed her condition from one of persistent agony to one of recovery.
Her gratitude towards AKUH and its staff was profound. Despite concerns from others about her financial situation—people wondered how she could afford treatment—she remained steadfast in her faith. “I told them a Godsent person brought me here,” she recalled with deep appreciation. “The more you help someone, God will help you,” she said, acknowledging the generosity and financial assistance she received.
Now healed each prayer she utters is filled with a wish for others to find relief and healing. “Each-time I pray to Allah”, she shares sincerely, “that no one suffers or faces a disease.” Gohar Bibi’s story is not just one of overcoming a severe health crisis, it is a testament to the power of faith and the support that can change lives in the face of adversity.
